What the Dropbox status covers
Dropbox reports the website, the desktop and mobile applications, the API, Paper, Passwords, Dash, Replay, DocSend and its support services as separate components.
The official page is status.dropbox.com. Everything on this page is read from its public API and shown as declared, with the provider's own wording in incident titles and updates.
Dropbox not working for you, but no incident shown?
- If files do not sync on one computer but the website shows them, the problem is in the desktop app on that computer: check that it is signed in and not paused.
- A full account stops syncing new files and looks like an outage. The storage meter is in the account settings.
- Apps that connect to Dropbox use the API component; they can fail while the website and your own sync keep working.
- Wait a few minutes and look again. Status pages are updated by people and usually trail the start of a problem.
- Test from another network, such as a phone hotspot. If it works there, the cause is on your connection, VPN or DNS.
Want to follow Dropbox without opening this page? There is a status badge and an RSS feed for it, and you can pin it so the browser tab icon follows its state.

Questions and answers
Is Dropbox down right now?
The answer at the top of this page is the state Dropbox declares on status.dropbox.com, re-read every 9 minutes. It is loaded when the page opens, so it is not written into this text. If the page shows "No data", open status.dropbox.com directly.
Where does this Dropbox status come from?
From the public status API of https://status.dropbox.com, the official status page maintained by Dropbox. This site does not test Dropbox itself and does not use reports from users.
Dropbox is not working for me, but this page says there is no incident. Why?
Dropbox may not have declared the problem yet, since status pages are updated by people and usually lag by some minutes. The problem can also be limited to one region or feature, or be on your own network or account. The checks listed on this page help to tell these cases apart.
Does the Dropbox status page include Paper and DocSend?
Yes. Both are listed as their own components on status.dropbox.com, together with Passwords, Dash and Replay.
How long do Dropbox incidents last?
It varies by incident. The list of recent incidents on this page shows the declared start and resolution of each one, and the 90-day strip shows on which days Dropbox declared a problem.
