Developer tools status

GitHub, npm and Twilio, each read from its own official status page every 9 minutes. A page that stops answering is shown as No data, never as green.

Each row is the company's own statement, read from the address printed under its name. No visitor reports, no guesses. Services with a problem come first.

When the pipeline stops

A failed build has many possible causes and only some of them are yours. Before debugging a pipeline that worked an hour ago, it is worth ten seconds to check whether the code host or the package registry has declared a problem. GitHub reports Actions, Git operations, the API and Packages separately; npm reports installation and publishing separately.

The opposite check matters as well. If both show no incident, the failure is more likely in your own change, in a pinned dependency or in a credential that expired.

Communication APIs

Twilio is a special case: its status page includes the delivery state of mobile carriers around the world, so it is in a "minor incident" state most of the time. What matters is the incident title, which names the carrier and country. This site collects Twilio's overall state and open incidents and leaves the per-country detail to the official page.

Not collected yet

These providers are searched for in this category but publish status in a format this site does not read yet. No state is shown for them here, only the way to their official page.

Questions and answers

My CI is failing. How do I tell if it is GitHub or npm?

Look at where the job stops. Jobs that never start point to GitHub Actions. Jobs that start and fail while downloading dependencies point to the package registry. Both are on this board with their declared state.

Does this cover GitLab or Bitbucket?

Not yet. GitLab publishes status in a different format (status.io) and needs its own adapter. Only the services listed on this page are collected.

Can I get these states in my own dashboard or README?

Yes. Each service has a badge image and an RSS feed, and the whole board is available as one JSON file. The page "Badges & feeds" has the addresses.
